Even the top performers need confidence boosts occasionally to remain at their best, and some good confidence tips are often all you need to keep on track when you need some inspiration. Finding the right confidence tips for your life can really benefit you and could quickly change your quality of living, from shyness to boldness in a few steps. Here are some confidence tips to help you.
1. Spend time each day around confident people Their energy and inner strength can be very inspiring. Just by being with them, hearing the way they speak or experiencing the way they act and behave, you will find yourself feeling more uplifted and empowered by the positivity they give off. You might also be able to get tips from how they learned to be more confident too. Even one good confidence tip could point you in a whole new direction you would not have otherwise considered.
2. Find a mentor Nearly all successful people have a mentor. You too need someone who has already done what you are working to achieve who is willing to advise you, and can offer tips on how to be more confident. This person will take an active interest in your life and help you to succeed even more quickly than you can imagine. When you have someone who believes in you and you have a life goal plan you are committed to, your confidence will soar.
3. List your reasons to be confident Becoming aware of why you can be confident will help you get back on track. Make a list of at least 50 reasons why you can be confident today. Include previous successes, your skills and qualities, your support network and your goals. Put down everything that pops into your mind. After you have done this you will have tapped into the power of consistency. You will be under pressure to be consistent
4. Understand that confidence is only a feeling Have you ever felt confident? If you have ever felt confident in any situation then you can feel confident again in the future. How? By re-accessing that confident feeling. This is something that is worth doing every day. Spend 15 minutes a day reliving occasions in your life when you felt confident. Imagine it all in clear detail, full of colour and familiar imagery. What sounds do you remember? What did you feel by touch? What could you smell or taste? Use all your senses, and pay very close attention to the feelings of your confident memories. After only a few days, feeling confident will become a good habit.
5. Preparation makes perfect Have you ever listened to your favorite music CD and felt inspired by the talent of the musicians or singer? Then think for a moment about these artists got to where they are in life. They developed what they knew and practiced, and practiced, until they got it right. They didn't stop there though, as they maintain their skill and keep practicing so they don't forget it or lose touch with being able to do it. When you spend time building on your awareness and skills, your confidence will soar because you will know with certainty, that you can be confident when you need to be.
6. Self comparison is key Look to the success of others to learn from but not to measure your own success. When you put your focus on the daily improvement of your own skills and abilities you can and will grow very quickly. You will be a living example of a confident individual. Only engage in self-comparison when you are assessing your progress, and can learn something from other people that will benefit you and make you stronger. By doing this you will make it easier to keep at it when the going gets tough and your competence will grow day by day.
7. Stop putting yourself down From now on make this an unshakable rule: Never say anything about yourself, either silently or out loud, that you don’t sincerely want to be or come true. When we speak, we are speaking words that have power. It's a confession, and a command to our subconscious self. Be careful what seeds you sow into your subconscious as if you speak negatively to yourself (or another person for that matter), you are speaking negativity into your (or another's) life, and will therefore attract negative things in life. Adopt a habit of speaking positivity into your life and you will attract positive things.
8. Treat yourself better
Decide right now to treat yourself with love and respect and accept only the best for yourself for the rest of your life. What seeds you sow in life, you reap in life also, so plant the seeds of confidence in your consciousness through your intentions, thoughts, attitudes and beliefs, dreams, actions and words, and keep them well nourished to grow your confidence will grow. Promise yourself that from now on you’ll sow only ‘seeds’ of positive thoughts that boost your confidence, improve your relationships and make you feel good about yourself.
9. Make a public declaration Tell someone whose opinion you value that you will be confident at a particular event. Your desire to impress this person will cause you to do all that you can to be at your very best. And when you demand more of yourself you will be amazed at what you can do. You will start finding solutions to problems that confused you before and you will seek advice from people who can help you.
Activity
Write down three beliefs that you hold about yourself which could be limiting your confidence. Now think of three beliefs you would rather have, beliefs that would empower you and bring confidence. Cross out the limiting beliefs and write these empowering beliefs in their place. What would you have to do for these new beliefs to come true?
